Steganography 2

What is Steganography ?
It is the art and science of writing hidden messages in such a way that no one, apart from the sender and intended recipient, suspects the existence of the message. The word steganography is of greek origin and means "concealed writing" from the Greek words steganos meaning "covered or protected" and graphy meaning "writing". Anyone else viewing the message will fail to know it contains hidden/encrypted data. This can be achieved by concealing the existence of information within seemingly harmless carriers or cover.Carriers areText, Image, Audio, Video, etc
History Of Steganography: Steganography has a long history. The first recorded uses of steganography can be traced back to 440 BC when Herodotus mentions two examples in his Histories. Demaratus sent a warning about a forthcoming attack to Greece by writing it directly on the wooden backing. Histiaeus shaved the head of his most trusted slave and tattooed a message on it. After his hair had grown the message was hidden. The purpose was to instigate a revolt against the Persians
Techniques Of Steganography?
Process of Steganography can be done in the following ways:
 1) Masking and Filtering: Information is hidden inside of a image using digital watermarks that include information such as copyright, ownership, or licenses.
 2) Algorithms and Transformations: This technique hides data in mathematical functions that are often used in compression algorithms.
3) Least Significant Bit Insertion: The most common and popular method of modern day steganography is to make use of the Least Significant Bit of a picture’s pixel information. Here , the Size of Image should be large to embed any text in it..
What is Steganalysis?
Steganalysis is the art and science of detecting messages hidden using steganography. The goal of steganalysis is to identify suspected packages, determine whether or not they have a payload encoded into them, and, if possible, recover that payload. It can be done in 2 ways:
 1) Visual Analysis : Tries to reveal the presence of secret communication through inspection, either with the naked eye or with the assistance of a computer. It does make use of any special technique or any algorithm. Hence , it is easy to use or implement.
2) Statistical (Algorithmic) Analysis : It reveals tiny alterations in an image's statistical behavior caused by steganographic embedding. Makes use of Algorithm or any Encoding method for finding the Alteration. Hence we make use of some kind of technique or software or algorithm to identify the stegnographic content.

NMAP and ZenMAP

NMAP and ZenMAP are useful tools for the scanning phase of Ethical Hacking in Kali Linux. NMAP and ZenMAP are practically the same tool, however NMAP uses command line while ZenMAP has a GUI. NMAP is a free utility tool for network discovery and security auditing. Many systems and network administrators also find it useful for tasks such as network inventory, managing service upgrade schedules, and monitoring host or service uptime. NMAP uses raw IP packets in novel ways to determine which hosts are available on the network, what services (application name and version) those hosts are offering, which operating systems (and OS versions) they are running, what type of packet filters/firewalls are in use, etc. Now, let’s go step by step and learn how to use NMAP and ZenMAP. Step 1 − To open, go to Applications → 01-Information Gathering → nmap or zenmap. Step 2 − The next step is to detect the OS type/version of the target host. Based on the help indicat...

Summer Industrial Training

Summer Indusrial Training with Allinone Cyberteam Pvt.Ltd. Training is teaching, or developing in oneself or others, any skills and knowledge that relate to specific useful competencies. Training has specific goals of improving one's capability, capacity, productivity and performance. It forms the core of apprenticeships and provides the backbone of content at institutes of technology (also known as technical colleges or polytechnics). In addition to the basic training required for a trade, occupation or profession, observers of the labor-market recognize as of 2008 the need to continue training beyond initial qualifications: to maintain, upgrade and update skills throughout working life. People within many professions and occupations may refer to this sort of training as professional development.
